Denise Anderson, MBA, is president of Health Information Sharing and Analyst Center, (H-ISAC), a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the health sector from physical and cyber attacks and incidents through dissemination of trusted and timely information.
 
Denise currently serves as Chair of the National Council of ISACs, sits on the Board of Directors for the Global Resilience Federation (GRF) and participates in several industry groups and initiatives. She was recently elected to a 3-year term on the Cyber Working Group Executive Committee for the Health and Public Health Sector Coordinating Council. In addition, she has served on the Board and as Officer and President of an international credit association and has spoken at events all over the globe.
 
Denise was certified as an EMT (B), and Firefighter I/II and Instructor I/II in the state of Virginia for twenty years and was an Adjunct Instructor at the Fire and Rescue Academy in Fairfax County, Virginia for ten years.
 
She is a graduate of the Executive Leaders Program at the Naval Postgraduate School Center for Homeland Defense and Security.
 

Opening Keynote (October 4) Pete Renals,  Palo Alto Networks
Pete Renals is a Principal Researcher on Palo Alto Networks’ threat intelligence team. Pete joined Palo Alto Networks after retiring from the US Army with over twelve years of experience working in Cyber and Intelligence positions across multiple federal agencies. He has briefed at all levels of government and worked on initiatives that have shaped US cyber security policy. His area of expertise is using large datasets to detect attacks, identify attribution, and develop countermeasures in order to prevent future attacks by criminal actors and groups. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in computer science from the United States Military Academy and a Masters in Information Security from Carnegie Mellon University.
 
 

Active Shooter Preparedness – Run Hide Fight (October 4)
Don Ronsberg (Retired) Dept. of Homeland Security

Don Ronsberg recently retired from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).  Don served as the first Protective Security Advisor (PSA), assigned to the North Dakota District. 
 
Mr. Ronsberg supported the homeland security efforts, serving as a security advisor for public and private infrastructure owners and operators. He contributed to the development of the national risk picture by assisting with the identification, assessment, monitoring, and minimizing of risk to critical assets at the local level. As a PSA, Mr. Ronsberg conducted vulnerability and security assessments for critical infrastructure owners and operators, and acted as a physical and technical security advisor to federal, tribal, state, local and private agencies.
 
Mr. Ronsberg served with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) since July of 2009 and retired in August of 2022.   Prior to DHS, he served active duty in the United States Air Force for 20 years in the Security Forces career field as a Security Specialist working in a myriad of nuclear and conventional security related fields.  After his Air Force career, Don was hired by the North Dakota Dept of Emergency Services, Plans and Operations Branch and worked in the State Operations Center under the North Dakota Homeland Security Division. Don was assigned as a member of the North Dakota Fusion Center (ND State and Local Intelligence Center – ND SLIC) and was the first state Critical Infrastructure Program Manager performing many of the duties that his DHS position required. 
 
Don graduated from the University of LaVerne, California with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management and received an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from the Community College of the Air Force.
 
Don is currently enjoying his next leg of this journey called “life” by being a full time Granddad, enjoying family activities such as movies, dining and games, walking his dogs, yard and garden work, reading and painting. 
 
How a Cyber Incident Changed One Company Forever (October 4)
Casey Self, HLC Consulting

Casey is a 15-year marketing and public relations professional based in Knoxville, Tennessee. She started her career as an intern in the women’s athletic department at the University of Tennessee, where she rose to a full-time sports information director while pursuing her master’s degree in communications. She has since worked in a variety of communications roles in the healthcare, non-profit, and transportation industries, with a stint as the public relations manager at a creative agency, where her clients included the Boy Scouts of America, YWCA Knoxville, and the State of Tennessee. She most recently served as the Director of Marketing at Perceptics, an international manufacturer of cameras used in the transportation industry where she led communications during a cyber attack. Casey is involved in several local community service and professional groups and is currently on the Board of the Knoxville Family Justice Center and the Knoxville Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. She counts among her unique experiences marketing complex technical products and services, cyber attack response, and leading public relations programs related to economic and community development.
 
 

Jon Waldman is a co-founder, Executive Vice President, IS Consulting, and President, SBS Institute for SBS CyberSecurity, a premier cybersecurity consulting and audit firm dedicated to making a positive impact on the banking and financial services industry. He maintains his CISA and CRISC certifications and received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems and his Master of Science in Information Assurance with an emphasis in Banking and Finance Security from Dakota State University. Over the last ten years Jon has helped hundreds of financial institutions across the country create and implement comprehensive, valuable, and manageable Information Security Programs. He also conducts webinars and certification programs for the SBS Institute.
