Sunny Wescott, Geospatial Intelligence ISAC Morning Keynote, Wednesday, September 30, 2026 Chief Meteorologist Sunny Wescott specializes in extreme weather events impacting emergency response, supply chain, and critical infrastructure. Ms. Wescott was a top Air Force Lead Meteorologist and provides the intersection of extreme weather events and cyber infrastructure and operations.
Keynote: Barometric Extremes: Hidden Cyber Risk from Weather Hazards Ms. Sunny Wescott will speak on the analysis of global weather patterns, confirming the growing frequency and severity of extreme weather hazards and the resulting damage across countries, critical infrastructure sectors, and interconnected systems. While the physical impacts are immediate, the downstream cyber and operational consequences are equally serious. Disruptions to energy, water, transportation, and supply chains can degrade digital resilience, strain emergency response, interrupt satellite connectivity, damage data centers, and complicate resource allocation during crisis conditions. These risks do not occur in isolation. Weather-driven stress on one infrastructure system can quickly cascade into others, exposing the deep interdependence between physical infrastructure, cyber operations, communications, and continuity planning. Her remarks will highlight how atmospheric change is not only a disaster issue, but also a growing infrastructure security and cyber resilience challenge. These disruptions also create broader risks to societal stability by reducing access to essential services, increasing public uncertainty, and widening pressure on already strained institutions. At the same time, staff safety is affected through hazardous working conditions, evacuation pressures, communication breakdowns, and increased operational demands on frontline and support personnel.

Ted Schick grew up in Minnesota and today resides in Fredenberg Township, just north of Duluth, MN on the shores of Island Lake Reservoir. A retired naval officer who rose from the enlisted ranks, Ted has over 30 years of experience leading people and over 26 years of teaching experience from US Navy instructor to High School teacher to Corporate Trainer to owner of Schick Corporate Learning.

Ted holds a BA Business from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, received a teaching certificate from Bemidji State University, as well as Master of Education from the University of Minnesota, Duluth.

Ted enjoys all outdoor activities to include biking, skiing, swimming, kayaking and fishing. A true servant leader, Ted believes in giving to his community and has donated his time to Spirit Mountain Ski Patrol, local animal humane societies, Mentor Duluth, Second Harvest Foodbank as well as “Meals-on-Wheels.”

Clifford Stoll gained worldwide attention as a cyberspace sleuth when he wrote his bestselling book, The Cuckoo’s Egg: Tracking a Spy Through the Maze of Computer Espionage, the page-turning true story of how he caught a ring of hackers who stole secrets from military computer systems and sold them to the KGB. He has become a leading authority on computer security. His lecture presentations are energetic and entertaining, and showcase Clifford’s dry wit and penetrating views. Clifford Stoll is a commentator for MSNBC and an astronomer at the University of California, Berkeley.
